Welcome to the Spring 2018 edition of the Entrusted to Teach Ministries Newsletter!
A new partnership with the Greenville Baptist Association to assist with strengthening churches is providing a platform for developing and introducing new training workshops through Entrusted to Teach Ministries. Areas of focus include much needed training in stewardship development, safe church policies and small group teacher training. On February 20th we conducted a workshop called Protecting Your Ministry that addressed essential policies and procedures for a safe church. Topics included child protection, anti-harassment, marriage and human sexuality, social media and church safety. The response was tremendous and the workshop is now available to other churches and associations through Entrusted to Teach. In January we traveled to Nicaragua where we had many opportunities to minister to the needy and to preach in churches in the barrios. We visited new church plants and made many new friends. This past week we were blessed to be with the wonderful church family of Infinity Church in Fountain Inn, SC

God’s call of Abram in Genesis 22 has been on my mind quite a lot in the past few months. God instructed Abram to go “to a land I will show you” (Gen. 12:1). While immediately following that call, even though we see God’s tremendous promises of blessing, Abram was still faced with going out from his relatives and his father’s house to a place and a new life that was yet to be revealed. I wonder how that transpired. Verse 4 says, “So Abram went as the Lord had showed him.” In verse 6 we are told they set out for the land of Canaan. What did Abram know and when did he know it? What did he know of Canaan? My tendency would be to ask God for more information before packing the family up and heading off into the unknown. We all know the story. Abram went and God did indeed bless Abram’s obedience. My recent faith journey doesn’t come close to the magnitude of Abraham’s step but, from a ministry perspective, I do understand a step of faith into the unknown. Back in July of last year God made it clear to me and Katrina that He was leading us away from the church were I was Pastor to pursue a new ministry direction that wasn’t clearly defined. Let me be clear. We were not and are not the picture of great faith. We argued with the Lord and looked for compromise. We drug our feet. We continued to ask for a little better picture of the future. So when my ultra conservative wife looked at me and said, “Okay, the Lord has made it clear, I am ready, we must do this,” I was stunned. I shouldn’t have been. I should have known God would have us on the same page if He was directing this step. I share all of this to say we are on an adventure and we are experiencing great blessing and joy. God is faithful!!!
We need your financial support for the upcoming trip to the Baptist Seminary in Uganda. The seminary cannot afford to compensate or reimburse teachers from the states. While we (Katrina and I) will pay Katrina’s expenses, Entrusted to Teach is paying my expenses. This is a new ministry and these expenses will be a challenge. Any financial assistance you can provide will be a huge blessing.
Thank you for your prayers and continued financial support for Entrusted to Teach ministries. With your generous giving, we are able to reach far and beyond to serve others in church leaders
